Epoxy Floor Coatings in San Marcos

Built for San Marcos homes.

San Marcos sits inland in North County, built across rolling hills with a lot of relatively recent development. The concrete is generally young and sound, the climate is moderate by our standards, and much of the work is finishing slabs properly rather than rescuing them.

Inland enough to escape serious salt exposure and high enough to avoid valley-floor heat extremes, San Marcos is genuinely forgiving ground for a coating — which means the finish is limited by the standard of preparation rather than by the climate.

Newer housing means newer concrete, and newer concrete in a moderate climate is about the easiest starting point there is. Most San Marcos work is a garage floor, patio or pool deck that was left bare when the house was built and is now being finished to a proper standard.

San Marcos FAQs

Epoxy Floor Coatings in San Marcos, questions

Is the climate here hard on concrete?

Less than most of our area, honestly. Far enough inland to miss the salt, high enough to miss the worst valley heat. In San Marcos the quality of the preparation decides the result far more than the weather does.

Can you go over the epoxy that is already on my floor?

We would rather not, and usually we will not. Coating over a failing coating buys you the same failure with a new color on it. Removal is a service in its own right for us — we do it for other contractors as well as on our own jobs — so taking the old system off is straightforward work rather than a reason to walk away.

How long does an epoxy floor take?

A residential garage is typically a couple of days including the grind and the cure between coats. Commercial floors depend on square footage and how much old material has to come off first. Dave gives you real dates on the estimate, and our own crew works them — nothing is handed to a subcontractor whose schedule we do not control.
