Why David Paul Foster Co. in San Marcos

Polished Concrete done right, the first time, in San Marcos.

Grinding and polishing the slab you already have into a finished floor — no covering, nothing to replace later. We work San Marcos from the university side across to the newer developments around San Elijo Hills, with our own crew on every job — no subcontractors, no surprise charges, and one number to call from the first estimate to the finished concrete coating.

We apply polished concrete across San Marcos and the surrounding area, including Escondido, Vista, Carlsbad, Oceanside.

What's included

  • Ground with progressively finer diamond tooling rather than coated
  • Densified and sealed, so the finish is the slab and not a film on top of it
  • Nothing to delaminate, bubble or peel later
  • Gloss set where you want it, from a low satin to a full reflection
  • Interior slabs, showrooms, offices, retail and warehouse floors
  • Old coatings removed first by our own crews, not subcontracted
Polished Concrete in San Marcos

Built for San Marcos homes.

San Marcos sits inland in North County, built across rolling hills with a lot of relatively recent development. The concrete is generally young and sound, the climate is moderate by our standards, and much of the work is finishing slabs properly rather than rescuing them.

Newer housing means newer concrete, and newer concrete in a moderate climate is about the easiest starting point there is. Most San Marcos work is a garage floor, patio or pool deck that was left bare when the house was built and is now being finished to a proper standard.

The hills bring grade. San Elijo Hills in particular has a lot of sloped driveways and stepped, terraced outdoor space, both of which want texture for grip and a color run that carries consistently across levels.

San Marcos FAQs

Polished Concrete in San Marcos, questions

Our house is only a few years old. Is there any point coating the garage?

Yes — and young, sound concrete is the best possible starting point. A bare slab is porous, stains readily and dusts. Coating it while it is in good condition is much easier and cheaper than rescuing it after ten years of oil and tire marks.

Can any slab be polished?

Most can. It comes down to how hard the concrete is, how much aggregate you want showing, and what is already on it. If yours will not take a good polish we will tell you that before you spend money on it.

What if there is an old coating on the floor already?

It has to come off first, and that is work we do ourselves — coating removal is a service in its own right for us, and we do it for other contractors as well as on our own jobs.
